Pedro I Square, the built complex of the former Islamic baths has been converted to a new museum. The complex houses archaeological remains, discovered during rehabilitation works in the historic centre, belonging to the former Islamic baths and a building erected in the 15th century, built near the defensive wall that bordered the ancient Islamic settlement. The Islamic baths are believed to have operated from the 12th century until the 13th century, when the Christian reconquest took place.<br \/>\nThe museum&#8217;s structures were designed to minimise the impact on the preserved heritage elements. The rehabilitation of the structures involved reinforcement solutions based on wood, steel, or masonry, depending on the scope of the intervention.
