Sottomyor Residences consist of a set of 3 Parisian-influenced buildings dating back to 1904 and one new building. The 3 existing buildings, structurally of the “gaioleiro” type, underwent a previous intervention that was interrupted in 2012, causing severe weaknesses in the structures of the buildings, resulting in the collapse of several structural elements. The advanced state of degradation of two buildings made it impossible to maintain most of their interior structure, with only the facade walls, central courtyard, and staircases being retained and integrated with the new reinforced concrete structure. Additionally, 4 new basements were built beneath these buildings and under part of the courtyard, via the suspension of the peripheral walls and staircases, resulting in an excavation of approximately 48,000 m3 and a perimeter of approximately 250 m of peripheral walls. In the corner building, it was possible to retain the interior structure, except for the rear area of the upper floors, which was excessively degraded; the intervention was based on a logic of preserving existing structures, involving the adaptation of the building to current habitability conditions and the seismic reinforcement of the existing structures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":328,"template":"","categoria-de--projet":[35,44],"class_list":["post-1813","projeto","type-projeto","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria-de--projet-buildings","categoria-de--projet-residential-and-services"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
